![]() The rules leaks are really intriguing to me and I’m really looking forward to seeing how it all plays out. I’m not sure we will see drastic changes at this point, but I would hope they have tweaked things to make the game go quicker.īut what about this Second Season?! I’m pretty excited, and there is enough stuff in there (like a newly announced Black Orcs team!) that I will purchase this as soon as it’s available. There are better game mechanics nowadays that help keep everyone engaged in the game at the same time. However, as nicely written as the game was back then, play styles have changed and boardgames have evolved. I’ve played a lot of boardgames, and I think a lot of them suffer from confusing, poorly worded rules (don’t get me started on Newcromunda!). The LRB/Tourney rules, which have their own history that I won’t get into…was the most concise and clearly worded rulebook I have ever seen. I think what you said “best written games in GW’s stable” is mostly true. The box comes with an orc and human teams, but it seems these are brand new team rosters, not simply stylised versions of the existing orc and human teams. So my main hope is that this box represents a more ‘feature complete’ version of Blood Bowl than the 2016 box. Realistically people have or can get the models they want, so if GW want to release new models, fine, but don’t hold back the rosters for models people already own. What I hope is that this new edition presents full and complete team rosters, unlike the previous edition which provided team rosters more slowly. ![]() This is a different look from the previous edition in 2016:īut I don’t dislike the art for this ‘second season edition’. ![]() Following some online links, Games Workshop posted a few details about the new edition. There’s a new edition of Blood Bowl on the way later in 2020. I wasn’t expecting this, and I am still not sure if this is a nice surprise or an unwelcome interruption.
